Training description

... Learners who have time constraints and specific language needs will be trained during a 12 hour seminar in learning strategies. This course is also carried out for students wishing to work in a more autonomous way with techniques and tools adapted to their needs.

Course content

...Throughout individual interviews, the teacher assists the students in creating his/her own curriculum, explains the use of material and the most effective methods for learning alone.

... For learners who do not need to be too independent or like to share some self-learning activities, the teacher organises pairs of students to work together and supervises their progress once a month.

... A monthly meeting (2 hours) is planned to obtain feedback about the learning process, assess progress and encourage the learners to continue.

Material used

...According to the skill the learner want to practice or to improve, apart from traditional material such as grammar or language methods, specific vocabulary, different kinds of material are available: magazines, books, newspapers, TV, radio, DVD.

...Various websites dealing with currents events (press, broadcast, news, radio, documentaries) or grammar sites or vocabulary sites are recommended, depending on the needs of the learners: oral skills, written skills etc.
